Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Memphis, Tennessee
Description
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in downtown Memphis, Tennessee. This role is instrumental in the finance department and involves overseeing the approval and distribution of invoices, as well as the maintenance of expense records. The position also requires the preparation of end-of-year documents and frequent communication with vendors and communities regarding accounts payable inquiries. 3 days in office, 2 days work from home.
Responsibilities
• Review and approve payable entries in the computer system, ensuring the correct coding of invoices and attachments
• Regularly review Expense Distribution Reports for accuracy
• Assist with the preparation of 1099’s at the end of the year
• Field vendor calls and emails, addressing any accounts payable related questions from communities
• Maintain accurate records of invoice processing, check runs, and account reconciliation
• Use data entry skills to manage and update records
• Use Microsoft Excel, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for various accounting tasks
• Ensure the correct coding of invoices and check for correct attachment of invoices
Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience with Check Runs and Coding Invoices
• Strong Data Entry skills
• Familiarity with Invoice Processing procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Oracle software
• Proficiency in QuickBooks software
• Experience with SAP software
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
