This full-time position is for a Controller who will work in the Memphis, Tennessee region. Candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, will be preferred for this position. Candidates who can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo, will be preferred for this position. Controllers for this role must be bi-lingual in Spanish OR have supported a Mexico or Latin American operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation

  • Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

  • Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team

  • Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

  • Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection

  • Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

  • Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis

    Requirements - Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Adeptness in financial statement preparation

  • Knowledge of Month-end Financial

  • Foundational knowledge in Month-end Reports

  • Month-end Close Activities experience

  • Deep understanding of Month-end Journal Entries

  • Experience with Perform Month-end

  • JD Edwards EnterpriseOne experience highly preferred

  • Practical knowledge of Prepare Financial Statements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial statements consolidation

  • General familiarity with Monthly Financial Statements

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
