Description
Job Summary: The POS Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Point of Sales systems. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will have experience with POS hardware and software, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and configure POS systems, including hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance of POS systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to POS systems, both remotely and on-site.
Provide training and support to end-users on the operation and functionality of POS systems.
Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and customize POS solutions accordingly.
Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, and technical issues.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as industry standards.
Assist in the development and improvement of technical processes and procedures.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends related to POS systems.
Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, preferred.
Proven experience as a POS Technician or in a similar technical support role.
Strong knowledge of POS hardware (e.g., terminals, printers, scanners) and software.
Familiarity with networking and basic troubleshooting of network issues.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site support as needed.
Ability to lift and carry equipment as required.
