Description

The Director of IT will develop the company’s IT vision (policy and strategy), and translate it into actionable goals, partner with senior leadership to seek out and develop solutions that enable continued business success and technical excellence, and provide leadership for members of the IT team

in their day-to-day activities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct IT staff or 3rd party resources in the performance of duties and functions related to platforms, systems and applications emphasizing overall system availability, stability, performance and service.

  • Manage implementations of complex new services and systems, understanding a wide array of technology, business requirements and solutions.

  • Hire, develop and retain highly competent personnel and cultivate an atmosphere of trust, teamwork, accountability and integrity.

  • Manage third party solutions providers, consultants and resellers and oversee the requisition process for all IT related purchases

  • Coordinate activates to ensure availability of network services and data

  • Identify security vulnerabilities and eliminate them with strategic solutions

  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities

  • Monitor system utilization trends to validate capacity planning efforts

  • Assist entities in Regent group in assessing IT capability and infrastructure when needed for expansion or acquisition.

  • Develop IT budget, account for spending, identifying means to lower cost stacks, improve efficiency and provide enhanced value for all technology under management; assist business in identifying and understanding the IT cost impact of decisions made

    Requirements

Education: BA/BS in MIS, Computer Science or other technical discipline is preferred. Advanced degree is desirable, but not required.

Experience: 10 years of IT experience is required, including 5 years of experience managing ERP, WMS, EDI solutions, BI Tools, Reporting Tools, Demand Planning solutions, e-Commerce platforms and database support staffs is desirable.

Skills:

  • Sound knowledge of IT systems, specifications, networks and computer systems

  • Problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset

  • Project planning and management skills

  • Effectiveness communicating in technical as well as non-technical language.

  • Proficiency forecasting, budgeting and strategic use of IT staff​

  • Demonstrated business acumen.​

  • Hands on experience with the following technologies is a plus:

  • Apprise/Progress OpenEdge ABL (ERP), HighJump (WMS), MSSQL, Microsoft Office Suite
