Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Memphis, Tennessee
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is centered on providing clerical and administrative support within the HR department, with a particular focus on payroll processing. You will be utilizing various accounting software systems and will be actively involved in accounts payable and receivable functions.
Responsibilities:
• Handle paperwork, filing, and copying tasks to maintain organized employee records
• Assist with general office tasks as needed
• Accurately and timely process payroll using ADP and other accounting software systems
• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and company policies, addressing any payroll-related inquiries from employees
• Assist in scheduling interviews for job candidates and conducting background checks and reference verifications
• Facilitate new hire orientations and onboarding processes
• Provide administrative support to the HR Manager as needed
• Maintain and manage 401k - RRSP Administration
• Handle accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Familiarity with ADP Financial Services
• Experience with Ceridian
• Proficiency in using IBM AS/400
• Knowledge of Kronos Timekeeping System
• Expertise in 401k - RRSP Administration
• Proficiency in using About Time software
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with payroll regulations and requirements
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Relevant certification in Payroll Management will be an added advantage.
