Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee

Description This role prepares and consolidates financial statements, analyzes and reconciles accounts, analyzes cash flow, creates budgets and forecasts, prepares audits, and manages internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting to attain company goals. Crucial components of the role include analytical skills and an ability to handle a challenging, fast-paced work culture. How you will make an impact

  • Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Partake in various department-wide initiatives

  • Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Provide assistance in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external

  • Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations

  • Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

  • Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

  • Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting Requirements - Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Comprehensive knowledge of 10 Key Accounting

  • Accounting Entries experience preferred

  • Experience with Corporate Accounting

  • Accounting Systems experience

  • Foundational knowledge in cost accounting

  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • 5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Excellent verbal, written, and social skills

  • Exceptional time management skills preferred

  • SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience

  • Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
