Robert Half Sr. Income Tax Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee

Description

We are offering an opportunity for a meticulous and detail-oriented Senior Income Tax Accountant to join one of our prestigious client's team based in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is primarily focused on income tax, and involves managing and improving the income tax profile for our operations. The successful candidate will be a crucial part of our finance team, providing expertise in technical application, process improvement, and tax-saving strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax provisions.

• Execution of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for income tax-related accounts.

• Preparation of financial statement supporting documentation as required.

• Management of third-party tax preparers for estimated payments, extension filings, and tax return delivery.

• Compilation of necessary financial data and preparation of working papers supporting tax computations.

• Development of analytical procedures to provide insightful analysis to the finance team.

• Maintenance of technical expertise through research platforms, training seminars, etc. and dissemination of this knowledge to key team members.

• Identification and pursuit of tax savings and refund opportunities both internally and with third-party consultants.

• Management of income tax audits as they occur.

• Addressing income tax and business notices as they occur.

• Assistance in ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience working with corporate Income Tax for a minimum of 3 years

• Proficiency in using 3M, ADP - Financial Services, and CCH Sales Tax

• Familiarity with Compliance software and CorpTax Software

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions and Auditing

• Ability to ensure Compliance and perform Income Tax Accounting

• Experience in dealing with IRS, Corporate Income, and Corporate Income Tax

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Experience in Corporate Tax Compliance and preparation of Corporate Tax Return

• Familiarity with Federal Income Tax Return and Federal Income Tax

• Knowledge of Internal Control processes and systems

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • CPA is a plus

  • Master's Degree in Tax also a pus
