Robert Half Staff Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee
Robert Half is searching for an efficient Senior Accountant to join their growing team on a permanent basis. As Senior Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Memphis, Tennessee area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.
How you will make an impact
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable
Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Requirements - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Month end closings experience
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Proficient in ERP systems
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
