Robert Half Staff Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee
Description Robert Half has an opportunity for you to become a critical part of an innovative company, as a full-time Staff Accountant. To thrive in this position, you will need to be driven by a challenging work environment with many components. Preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation will be essential for this Staff Accountant role. Other responsibilities include internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Located in the Memphis, Tennessee area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. What you get to do every single day
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation Requirements - Recent and relevant accounting experience
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Skilled with ERP systems
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
High attention to detail
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Account reconciliation experience desired
Month-end Journal Entries experience
Adeptness in Perform Month-end
Proficiency in Month-end Financial
Month-end Reports experience highly desired
Demonstrated knowledge of account analysis
Month-end Close Activities experience required
Ability to meet deadlines
Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
