Robert Half Staff Accountant in Memphis, Tennessee
Description An up-and-coming firm has teamed up with Robert Half to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team. In the role of Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. When it's time for the monthly close, you'll be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A good deal of time in this position will be spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Memphis, Tennessee area, the company offering this challenging long-term contract / temporary opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll Requirements - Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation
Microsoft Excel experience preferred
Proficient in ERP systems
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
