You will succeed in this position if you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. If you want to participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes, this role might be right for you. You might be our ideal candidate, if you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.
Major responsibilities
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision Requirements - Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong familiarity with journal entries
Solid understanding of month end closings
Bank reconciliations experience
Expertise in general ledger
Monthly Bank Reconciliation experience
Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
ERP system experience
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
