Robert Half Accounting Manager in Menlo Park, California

Description

We are offering a dynamic opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the non-profit sector, based in Menlo Park, California. The role involves managing a team of accountants, overseeing intercompany reconciliations and endowments, as well as handling month/year end close procedures. This position offers remote work flexibility and operates within a contract employment framework. This role is for up to 8 months and it is 100% remote. Pay (up to $90/hr.) is based on experience, ideally you have experience with restricted/unrestricted funds, intercompany transactions, and the non-profit industry. Please apply today!

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the implementation and use of accounting software systems including PeopleSoft and Workday Financials.

• Manage a team of accountants, providing support for budgeting and intercompany related transactions.

• Carry out intercompany reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage endowments, including handling of both restricted and non-restricted funds.

• Oversee month and year-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Utilize ERP solutions for efficient management of accounting functions.

• Handle funds flow accounting tasks, ensuring transparency and compliance.

• Respond to inquiries related to budgeting, ideally within a healthcare or hospital setting.

• Maintain an understanding of non-profit sector accounting requirements and standards.

• Use Great Plains (GPAC) software for various accounting functions.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the accounting field, preferably in a non-profit setting

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems such as Great Plains (GPAC) and Workday Financial Management

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Solid understanding of accounting functions and auditing practices

• Must have excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data

• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and present financial information to non-financial colleagues

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required; advanced degree or professional certification such as CPA is preferred

• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Must have a strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
