Our client is a leading PE fund that specializes in late stage tech investments in Menlo Park that is looking to build out their Finance team. They are looking for an Accounting Director to join their team to help establish policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be detail‐oriented, possess strong logical thinking, organizational and interpersonal skills, and have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and complete projects on a timely basis.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of the capital call and distribution process for the private equity funds managed by the firm, including:
Develop timeline and manage timely execution of all deliverables,
Coordinate with the Executive Committee, Accounting and deal professionals, and the external fund administration team,
Responsible for the preparation/review of waterfall calculations
Review capital call/distribution calculations, journals and investor notices
Responsible for the administration of the various systems utilized by the Accounting/Operations team – including fund accounting systems, investor CRM database, investor portal, document management system and other automation initiatives
Engage with deal teams and external advisors on fund administration/accounting
Responsible for the financial close process for Riverwood’s pool investment vehicles
Responsible for annual ERISA certification process
Support the filings of various statutory reports for compliance purposes
Support line of credit initiation or renewal process
Lead resolution of technical accounting issues
Respond to investor inquiries
Support external fund audits
Support tax/compliance-related matters and filings
Requirements
B.S. degree in Accounting preferred; CPA preferred
At least 10 years of Accounting experience
Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
Knowledge and experience with private equity/venture capital investment partnership accounting
Strong technical accounting skills (US GAAP)
Desire to be a member of a top caliber finance team with a strong desire to positively contribute to its long-term growth, effectiveness and success of the finance team and firm as a whole
Highest professional and ethical standards
Strong interpersonal skills and team player attitude
Curious and always striving to fully understand an issue and process ideas completely and quickly in order to best execute on a task or solve a problem
Self-motivated and possess energy and enthusiasm with an open and honest communication style
Ability to sort through complex issues and translate and communicate them in a clear, concise manner in a collaborative team environment
Proactively identify and resolve issues; and lead projects
Can multi-tasks and prioritize and can complete projects on a timely basis.
Working knowledge of databases and openness to embrace new technologies and processes
Experience with QuickBooks, FloQast, and fund accounting software, preferred
Exposure to Alta Return/Allvue is a big plus
