Our client is a private equity firm with a focus on growth stage companies in the technology sector. They have over $6 billion in assets under management.
The company is seeking a fund accounting manager to join the finance team in Menlo Park. In the role, you will report to the SVP.
Responsibilities include:
monthly close process for funds, SPVs, and pooled investment vehicles, including recording transaction journals, preparing reconciliations, preparing financial statements and management reports.
Engage with deal teams and external advisors on fund administration/accounting matters
Support capital call and distribution process
Assist with resolution of technical accounting issues
Support external audits
Assist in compliance-related matters and filings
Assist in responding to investor inquiries
Support year-end tax schedule preparation
Respond to investor inquiries
Perform ad hoc projects and miscellaneous tasks
Requirements
Key requirements:
B.S. degree in Accounting preferred; CPA preferred
At least 5 years of Accounting experience within investment management industry
Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
Knowledge and experience with private equity/venture capital investment partnership accounting
Strong technical accounting skills (US GAAP)
Desire to be a member of a top caliber finance team with a strong desire to positively contribute to its long-term growth, effectiveness and success of the finance team and firm as a whole
Curious and always striving to fully understand an issue and process ideas completely and quickly in order to best execute on a task or solve a problem
