Description Robert Half is looking for Controller candidates who are looking for work where they will have broad business engagement and impact. The position's duties include managing the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verifying and holding the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively. Located in Menlo Park, California, this Controller position will be a long-term contract / temporary opportunity. Your responsibilities in this role
Work closely with Treasury to provide timely cash flow forecasts
Obtain understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners
Lead budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes and tools for the accountable programs
Collation of evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs to support SOX controls
Continuous reviewing of actual spend against budget, as well as directing actions needed for any expected shortfalls
Obtain a thorough understanding of essential financial results and movements across programs, then summarize and discuss them with key business partners
Engage with various business partners for a variety of program controllership and FP& A activities such as upholding accurate accrual models and appropriate accounting, as well as true-up activities. Also answer questions from business, area and subsidiary controllers
Evaluate and observe controls to ensure they are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field
- CPA and/or CMA preferred
Comprehension of ERP system offerings is preferred
Ability to manage, lead change and build process improvements
Excellent analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills
Adeptness in Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics
Deep understanding of Private Equity
Demonstrated knowledge of Family Office
Controllership experience
Foundational knowledge in Great Plains (GPAC)
Asset management experience
Microsoft Great Plains Accounting experience highly desired
Capable of working in office and accounting computer systems
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with experience building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and aptitude for influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers
Professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance
Background in virtual engagement with global teams around the world and being a leader across finance teams
