Description
We are seeking a PART-TIME Medical Billing/Claims/Collections professional to join our team located in Merrillville, Indiana. This role focuses on managing customer accounts, processing applications, and maintaining accurate records in the medical industry. This is a short-term contract position that offers a unique opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and manage customer accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
• Process customer credit applications with utmost precision and speed.
• Maintain precise records of customer credit activities.
• Resolve customer inquiries and disputes related to billing, collections, and claims.
• Assist in other departments as needed, including payments posting and credentialing.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all billing, collections, and claims processes.
• Utilize medical billing and collections skills to improve processes and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members to manage workload and meet deadlines.
• Continuously review and update billing, collections, and claims procedures to maintain accuracy.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations.
Requirements • Demonstrable experience in Medical Billing and Medical Collections
• Proficient in using medical software and databases
• Knowledge of medical codes, terms and procedures
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve billing and collection issues
• High school diploma or equivalent; further education in Medical Billing or Finance is a plus
• Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) certification is preferable.
