Healthcare services organization with opening for Assistant Controller (in Miami area of 33137)
This well known organization serving the community over the years is seeking an Assistant Controller. The ideal candidate has a background within Healthcare, Hospital, Assisted Living, Rehabilitation and or other related Health services and in the Non profit sector. Any exposure to NetSuite is a plus.
This role currently works remote; with future plans for a hybrid schedule of remote and in-office. M-F standard hours. Offering a Competitive Benefits package of: Insurance for Employee and Dependents, generous PTO, Holidays, 401k, other.
Job Duties overview: Under the supervision of the Controller, the Assistant Controller is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements:
Supervises senior and staff accountants ensuring work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner
Addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities
Including general ledger preparation, accounts payable oversight, banking duties, financial reporting
Ensures year-end audit preparation
Supports budget and forecast activities
Communicate departmental goals and objectives with Senior Leadership and the Controller
Responsible for monthly financial statement preparation, assist with coordination of tax and audit related reporting (990’s, 1099’s, etc.)
Reviews staff work to ensure accuracy and timely completion
Responsible for maintaining accurate financial statements during the financial close and quarterly review process
Confirms accuracy of operating and financial reports
Maintains ownership over the General Ledger ensuring new GL accounts are correctly added in accounting system and properly included in all financial reports
Assists the Controller in the daily banking requirements.
Monitors department work to develop more efficient procedures
Works with direct report to establish objectives and mentorship to enhance the professional development of staff
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
CPA is a plus but not required
Comprehensive knowledge in any ERP (NetSuite is a plus)
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Proficiency with a strong month end close
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
