Robert Half Assistant Controller in Miami, Florida
Description We have an excellent opportunity for a Assistant Controller position. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter with a track record of identifying problems and delivering solutions. You will keep the Controller up to date on the accounting staff as the Assistant Controller. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Miami, Florida area. Key responsibilities
Urge accountability and the meeting of deliverables
Backfill for Controller where necessary
Manage the accounting team during the closing process to make sure deadlines are met
Help ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, goal setting and development
Alternative duties as requested
Ready different technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures
Create relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
Warrant regular account reconciliation to completion
Forward-thinking preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Contribute to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Examine and build Ad Hoc financial reports
Assist implementation and assure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Mark and expand process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency Requirements - Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
CPA certification desired
Microsoft Excel experience desired
Ability to multitask effectively
- Notable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
- Proficient in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Deep technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
