Robert Half Bookkeeper in Miami, Florida


Here at Robert Half, we are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper with strong Excel skills for a short-term contract position.

The Bookkeeper will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes. Reporting to the financial controller, the Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting.

What your duties will include:

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments using accounting software.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts.

  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.

  • Prepare and send invoices to customers, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

  • Follow up on outstanding invoices and resolve any billing discrepancies.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

  • Prepare financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial information and resolve any accounting issues.

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to company policies and procedures.

  • Utilize Excel to create and maintain spreadsheets for various accounting purposes, such as budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.

  • Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data manipulation.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar programs.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Certification such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) is a plus.
