Description

Robert Half Finance is looking for a Fund Controller for a rapidly growing Private Equity firm. The Controller position is a full-time opportunity in the Miami, Florida region. Candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, will be preferred for this position. You will succeed in this position if you can effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. What you get to do every day

  • Manage the Fund Accounting and Fund reporting function

  • Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

  • Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

  • Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual

  • Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month

  • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations

  • Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Requirements

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Private Equity Fund accounting

  • Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well

  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
