Description
Robert Half is offering a permanent position for a skilled Grant Staff Accountant to join their dynamic, rapidly-growing team. As Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting throughout the monthly close. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Miami, Florida area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.
Your responsibilities
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Requirements - Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Solid understanding of grant accounting
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
