Robert Half Legal Assistant in Miami, Florida

Description We are in search of a Legal Assistant to join our team in the legal industry located in Miami, Florida. As a Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting attorneys, managing calendars, drafting and revising legal documents, and handling incoming calls with efficiency. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage an active and changing calendar of appointments, ensuring all deadlines are met and background information for meetings are ready

• Handle incoming calls, responding to inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner

• Draft, format, and revise correspondence and legal documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness prior to distribution or filing

• Organize meetings, schedule appointments and send reminders as necessary

• Handle expense reconciliation and reimbursement tasks

• File legal documents in state and federal courts, maintaining accurate records

• Assist attorneys and paralegals in preparing for trials

• Prioritize and execute assigned tasks quickly and accurately, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Perform additional duties as required, demonstrating the ability to multitask and maintain an upbeat attitude. Requirements

• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Legal Assistant role or similar position within the legal industry.

• Proficiency in Calendar Management and the ability to effectively schedule appointments and depositions.

• Demonstrated experience in Client Relations and maintaining strong communication with clients.

• Exceptional Communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Familiarity with e-File and e-Filing systems.

• Experience in drafting a wide range of correspondence and documents, including legal documents and pleadings.

• Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate and Federal Court procedures.

• Previous trial experience is necessary.

• Expertise in Maritime Law, Personal Injury and Commercial Litigation a PLUS

• Ability to prepare responses to legal inquiries.

• Must have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
