Description
Robert Half is seeking a Payroll Clerk who can data enter manual payroll discrepancies and is proficient with Microsoft Office applications. The Payroll Administrator position is a short-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity based out of Kendall, Florida.
What you get to do every day
Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities
Compile all information in reference to summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages for reports
Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
Perform any other duties that arise in the course of normal business operations
Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads
Collect and analyze information including resolving payroll discrepancies
Exercise review and verification of source documents
Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll
Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments
Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data
Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
Answer questions and requests related to payroll information
Handle payroll record updates by keeping changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers

Requirements
Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
Prior experience using accounting software
Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
Previous experience handling high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred
Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Expertise with internal controls
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Deep understanding of benefits analysis
Relevant experience of 2+ years in payroll
Outstanding data entry skills
