Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Middleburg Heights, Ohio

Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in the Transport industry, located in MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity, where you will be responsible for managing and coordinating activities related to our accounts payable system, developing and implementing policies to improve the efficiency of the department, and preparing reports on the status of payables.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to streamline the payment of company bills

• Schedule, plan, and manage the work of the Accounts Payable unit

• Handle investigations of amounts due from the company for goods and services purchased

• Implement methods for monitoring work activities such as preparation of expenditure records and progress reports

• Analyze department budget and allocate operating budget funds as needed

• Interpret company policy to supervisors and employees and enforce company policy and practices

• Oversee the maintenance of accounts payable ledger

• Manage the adjustment of customer claims

• Determine the credit amount to be extended and recommend the working capital necessary to finance accounts payable

• Enter Vendor Invoices, Maintain Vendor Files, Code Invoices, Approved Invoices, Coding Invoices, Customer Invoices, Account Reconciliation. Requirements • Must possess skills in entering vendor invoices accurately and efficiently

• Ability to maintain vendor files with utmost organization and confidentiality

• Proficient in coding invoices as per the company's accounting system

• Capable of approving invoices after thorough review and validation

• Knowledge in customer invoicing and ensuring timely and accurate billing

• Experience in account reconciliation, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues promptly

• Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all accounting tasks

• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with vendors and internal teams

• Proficiency in using accounting software and other computer applications

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Must have a strong understanding of the transport industry and its unique accounting needs.
