Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Middleburg Heights, Ohio
Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the transport industry based in MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio. This role involves managing accounts payable, analyzing workflow processes, and establishing relationships with vendors. This position is a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Handle accounts payable for separate entities and vendors using accounting software
• Maintain and foster relationships with new and existing vendors
• Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
• Analyze workflow processes to ensure efficiency
• Process due invoices for payments in a timely manner
• Compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment, and other charges
• Perform accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries, and reconciling books of accounts
• Reconcile vendor statements by identifying errors in posting or omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards
• Resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status
• Maintain and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports. Requirements • Proficiency in entering vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Ability to maintain and update vendor files regularly
• Demonstrated experience in coding invoices effectively
• Strong understanding of the process of approving invoices
• Previous experience in coding customer invoices
• Proficient in handling account reconciliation tasks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Relevant experience in the transport industry would be an advantage
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field would be preferred.
