If you're looking to build your career in accounting, there's currently a Staff Accountant position with Robert Half's' internal Full Time Engagement Professional. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Middleton, Wisconsin region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded!

Make an impact with the following:

  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

  • Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

    Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • Practical knowledge of journal entries

  • Good understanding of payroll

  • Comprehensive knowledge of account reconciliation

  • Well-founded grasp of cash reconciliations

  • Previous experience working with Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Skills in Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Bank Account Reconciliation experience

  • Earlier work involving month end closings

  • General familiarity with property accounting

  • Proven knowledge of account reconciliation

  • Knowledge of Balance Sheet Reconciliation

  • Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation

  • Strong familiarity with Bank Account Reconciliation

  • Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Proficient in ERP systems

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
