Robert Half Cost Accountant in Milpitas, California

Description

Robert Half is currently working with a dynamic client seeking a cost accountant. This client is in the semiconductor chip manufacturing space. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. Responsibilities

  • Take physical inventory and review the cycle count program

  • Decide costs of business activity, including raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste

  • Execute standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants

  • Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization

  • Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results

  • Make calculations of new and proposed product costs

  • Assist in general ledger preparation and audits

  • Generate financial statements that comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost

  • Generate reports comparing production costs to standard costs and analyze manufacturing costs

  • Perform internal cost audits

  • Conduct variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances

  • Generate reports for management that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services

  • Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings

    Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

  • 3+ years of Cost Accounting work experience

  • High analytical and extremely detailed

  • Strong knowledge of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates

  • Strong understanding of organizational accounting concepts

  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate
