Planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff will be essential for this role. What you get to do every day
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed Requirements - Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Month end closings experience desired
Experience with budget forecasting
Proficiency in Month-end Journal Entries
Month-end Reports experience
Adeptness in consolidations
Demonstrated knowledge of QuickBooks
Month-end Close Activities experience required
Vow to meet business deadlines
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Excellent attention to detail
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
CPA/MBA preferred
Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
