Robert Half Payroll Coord in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Description We are offering a position in the Energy/Natural Resources industry located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 53214-1469, United States. The role revolves around the job function of a Payroll Administrator. This opportunity offers a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and processing payroll for a specific region or group on a weekly and bi-weekly basis

• Retrieving and validating hours worked from the accounting system and importing them into the payroll system

• Verifying and analyzing employee payroll such as pay correction, change of status, special rates, and insurance premium before transmission

• Managing time banks, sick leave banks, and floating vacations

• Ensuring effective management of vacation pay and salary input

• Guaranteeing timely payroll transmissions at all times and sending payroll accounting entries to the accounting department every week

• Verifying and posting employment records, responding to employment insurance inquiries, and participating in the management of audits and SOX compliance

• Answering internal and external calls as the point of contact for all payroll matters

• Participating in the compliance management of the year-end process and preparing month-end reports in compliance with deadlines

• Completing the Statistics Canada reports and filing payroll-related documents.

Requirements • Proven experience in payroll administration within the energy/natural resources industry

• Proficiency in using payroll software, preferably 'About Time'

• Demonstrated ability in managing compliance and compliance management systems

• Strong knowledge of accounting functions and accounting entries

• Experience in auditing and quality assurance (QA) management

• Expertise in managing salary structures and union dues

• Understanding of pension plans and insurance matters

• Ability to generate month-end reports and manage payroll functions

• Experience in Sarbanes Oxley 404 Compliance

• Proficiency in managing requisitions and floating tasks

• Strong skills in documentation and statistics

• Excellent communication skills to answer queries effectively

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
