Responsibilities held by the Staff Accountant include the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position spends a fair amount of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, your responsibilities include communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes.
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls under SOX accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Efficient in ERP systems
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Accounts payable experience preferred
Accounts receivable experience required
Deep understanding of accounts receivable
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
