Robert Half Purchasing Agent in Minden, Nevada

Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Purchasing Agent role for a manufacturing company located in Minden. The primary responsibilities include:

• Obtains requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders; verifies receipt of items; authorizes payment.

• Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items; recommending alternatives.

• Forwards available inventory items by verifying stock; scheduling delivery.

• Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.

• Obtains purchased items by forwarding orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders.

• Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.

• Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.

• Provides purchasing, planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

To be considered candidates should have:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Two years of purchasing experience and an associate’s degree or five years of purchasing experience

  2. Ability to work independently and also as a team member

  3. Strong communication skills and good technology skills including MS Excel and ERP systems experience. Requirements • Minimum 3 years of experience in a purchasing role within the manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems

• Familiarity with buying processes in a manufacturing setting

• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal teams

• Ability to process purchase requisitions timely and accurately

• Knowledge of drafting and managing purchase agreements

• Experience in calculating and analyzing purchase price variance

• Ability to coordinate and manage purchasing activities

• Experience in working within a purchasing department and executing purchasing functions.
