Description

You will be responsible for preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Candidates need to bring strong analytical skills to the role and should be capable of handling challenging, fast-paced work environments. Located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the energy field. Your responsibilities
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests
Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Requirements - Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Experience with ERP systems
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Vow to meet business deadlines
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
2+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload
CPA experience required
Microsoft Excel experience preferred
Strong familiarity with Full Cycle Accounting
Tax accounting experience desired
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills
