Alternative Investment Accounting Analyst
Robert Half, a premier recruiting firm, has partnered with a leading alternative investment firm in the Twin Cities to identify an Alternative Investment Accounting Analyst. This position will play a crucial role in processing month-end closing for the firms complex investment strategy and meeting various deadlines with respect to regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing financial and regulatory records for the month-end close process, monthly regulatory filings, annual audits, and periodic regulatory inquiries.
Use accounting software, Excel, and various applications on a daily basis to analyze financial information.
Post monthly journal entries to the general ledger.
Perform reconciliations and analyze large data using proprietary software.
Collaborate internally and externally to enhance processes.
Assist the team in fulfilling ad-hoc requests.
Communicate statuses to meet targeted deadlines.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of public or relevant accounting experience.
Experience in the Alternative Investment industry preferred.
CPA or CPA candidate is preferred.
Highly proficient in Microsoft applications, primarily Excel.
Strong attention to detail in big data analysis.
Excellent time management and communication skills.
Eagerness to learn and enhance processes.
Ability to switch tasks to meet broader organizational objectives.

Requirements
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
High attention to detail
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Sound written and verbal communication skills
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Foundational knowledge in financial statement preparation
Adeptness in Public Accounting
Proficiency in month end closings
Regulatory reporting experience preferred
Solid understanding of Alternative Investments
Experience with GAAP Accounting
