Description

We are seeking a Banking Attorney based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role revolves around tax credit affordable housing work and traditional banking within the legal industry. The position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity, providing a unique chance to work with community and regional-based banks across the country.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake tax credit affordable housing work primarily focusing on construction financing that transitions into a loan.

• Serve traditional banking clients, specifically community and regional-based banks.

• Engage in various types of loans, primarily construction financing.

• Implement understanding of transactional operations and apply this knowledge in dealing with loan documents.

• Participate in equity bridge financing within the affordable housing area.

• Involve in the acquisition of qualified bonds and drafting documents around these transactions.

• Understand the loan closing process and execute it efficiently.

• Collaborate in the due diligence process and exhibit flexibility and adaptability.

• Use Case Management Software for efficient management of cases and clients.

• Apply knowledge of Commercial Lending and Banking & Finance Law in everyday tasks.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Case Management Software

• Experience in Commercial Lending

• Expertise in Banking & Finance Law

Requirements • Must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Must be licensed to practice law in the state

• Proven experience as a banking attorney in a law firm or in-house environment

• Extensive knowledge of banking and finance law

• Experience with commercial lending transactions

• Proficiency in using case management software

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• High ethical standards and professional integrity

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
