Description Robert Half is actively searching for an earnest, resourceful Controller to join the innovative team at an prominent services company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. How you will make an impact
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Reviews deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed Requirements - CPA/MBA preferred
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Knowledge of month end closings
Solid understanding of month end closings
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
