Description
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in drafting and reviewing various legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and other court submissions.
Electronically organize and maintain case-related documents, correspondence, and other materials in accordance with our firm's standard procedures.
Maintain attorneys' calendars by scheduling, updating, and reminding attorneys of court dates and deadlines.
Regularly communicate with clients, court staff, and other parties to keep them updated about the progress of cases.
Conduct basic legal research on federal statutes, court decisions, legal articles, and codes.
Assess case-related documentation to identify relevant information and assisting attorneys in case preparation.
Prepare materials for attorneys' meetings, depositions, hearings, trials, and other court appearances.
Participate in conference calls and meetings, preparing minutes when necessary.
Assist with the preparation and filing of electronic court submissions in District and Federal Courts.
Prepare and process invoices and expense reports.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in paralegal studies or a related field.
Paralegal Certification preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant in a business litigation environment, ideally in Federal Court cases.
Knowledge of Federal Court rules, procedures, and electronic filing systems.
Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite, legal research platforms, and document management systems.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines.
Excellent organizational skills, high level of accuracy, and attention to detail.
Strong data organization and project management skills.
