Robert Half Operations Manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our Minneapolis based client. This position will play a critical role in overseeing business operations across multiple locations and will collaborate cross-functionally to automate processes and exceed operational goals. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of distribution processes, supply chain principles, and inventory management. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the distribution warehouses, ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders, inventory management, and fulfillment activities.

  • Continuously assess and improve distribution processes, including receiving, order picking, packing, and shipping, to enhance operational effectiveness. Identify bottlenecks, implement corrective actions, and optimize workflows to meet customer demands and reduce costs.

  • Develop and implement inventory control measures, including stock monitoring, cycle counting, and reconciliation.

  • Ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained, and coordinate with purchasing and sales teams to minimize stockouts and overstocks.

  • Supervise and provide guidance to a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.

  • Establish and enforce safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and promote a culture of safety awareness within the distribution center.

  • Collaborate with vendors, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to establish effective partnerships.

  • Monitor service levels, negotiate contracts, and resolve any issues or disputes to maintain strong business relationships.

  • Utilize data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to analyze operational performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Prepare regular reports on productivity, accuracy, inventory levels, and other relevant metrics for management review.

  • Work closely with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate order processing, resolve customer inquiries or complaints, and maintain high levels of client satisfaction.

  • Support the functionality, safety, and sustainability of buildings, grounds, infrastructure, and real estate.

    Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Distribution, or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum five years operations management experience, preferably in a distribution, construction or manufacturing environment

  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and other relevant tools

  • Strong knowledge of distribution processes, inventory management, and supply chain principles

  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and collaborate with cross-functional teams

  • Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making acumen

  • Passion for operations management, creating efficiencies, inventory control, and team culture
