Robert Half Paralegal, Workers' Compensation in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description

We are in search of a dedicated Workers' Compensation Paralegal to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role involves serving as main point of contact in workers' compensation claims, preparing and filing legal documents, conducting legal research, and supporting files through resolution. Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of experience in Minnesota Workers' Compensation Law and will have experience working with the Minnesota Office of Administrative Hearings and Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. This role will be primarily in office and offers full benefits including health insurance plans, retirement plan, and paid vacation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of workers' compensation claims

• Maintain calendar schedules and deadlines, and confirm case status with attorneys regularly

• Collect, analyze, and summarize medical records and deposition transcripts for case preparation

• Draft, edit, and compile legal documents such as pleadings, discovery, and settlement documents ensuring they are filed appropriately

• Organize and coordinate mediations and depositions effectively

• Electronically file documents with the Office of Administrative Hearings

• Maintain regular communication with clients to keep them informed about the status and progression of their case

• Conduct legal research, particularly in the area of workers' compensation laws and regulations

• Liaise with opposing counsel, courts, medical providers, and insurance adjusters as required

• Use case management software and other relevant tools to manage and track case progress

• Utilize Adobe Acrobat, LexisNexis, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant software to perform necessary job functions

Requirements

• Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a paralegal role or similar legal support position.

• Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, and other case management softwares.

• Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis, Westlaw, or WestLaw Next.

• Knowledge of various legal fields including Workers' Comp Law, Administrative Law, and Department of Labor (DOL) regulations.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.

• Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred.
