Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Robert Half is partnering with a company in Minneapolis who is in need of a Payroll Clerk for a potential contract to hire opportunity. As the Payroll and Benefits Specialist, you will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for 175 employees, entering tax information, time and attendance, administering garnishments and taxes, and make adjustment to pay as necessary. As the payroll clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining employee payroll records. Additionally, you will be responsible for auditing monthly billings from providers and resolve discrepancies and coordinate with third party administrators.
Process payroll for hourly, salaried, and temporary employees; including reviewing and importing hours from time and attendance system, entering tax and direct deposit information, administering regulatory requirements, e.g., garnishments, tax levies, and support orders, and other adjustments to pay as necessary.
Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with human resources team to improve payroll and HRIS processes.
Evaluate and implement payroll/HRIS systems upgrades and changes.
Maintain employee payroll records.
Administer the time and attendance policy for all employees.
Produce scheduled reports pertaining to payroll to the Director of Human Resources.
3+ years of hands-on experience at a large corporation in a payroll processing capacity
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written and listening)
Great attention to detail
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
ADP and/or PeopleSoft experience preferred
Ability to easily learn new systems
