Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Mint Hill, North Carolina

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant. This role primarily involves managing and overseeing the monthly close process for multiple entities, as well as analyzing financial data to support strategic initiatives. The Sr. Accountant will also be tasked with maintaining the general ledger and profit and loss accounts, along with understanding and managing costs related to materials and labor.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end close process for 2-3 entities, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and reported • Maintain the general ledger for each entity, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely • Analyze and manage costs related to materials and labor, providing insights and recommendations to leadership as needed • Conduct budget variance analysis regularly, identifying any discrepancies and providing explanations for variances • Analyze expenses and conduct detailed cost analysis to support strategic decision making • Manage fixed assets, prepaids, and accruals, ensuring these are accurately accounted for in financial statements • Utilize Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze large datasets, creating reports and presentations as required • Collaborate with other teams and departments to gather necessary data and information for accounting processes • Continually review and improve accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy • Provide support to leadership by taking on day-to-day accounting tasks, allowing them to focus on strategic initiatives. Requirements • Must hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Must have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.

• Proven knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Experience with accounting software is a plus.

• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
