Robert Half Human Resources Manager/People Operations Partner in MOMENCE, Illinois


Robert Half is working on a new Human Resources/ People Operations Partner position located in the south suburbs of Chicago. The Human Resources professional will manage the day-to-day operations of the company. You will participate in meetings with the Operations department, and company executives to compare business goals with current People Ops initiatives. This is a Direct Hire opportunity: Hybrid work schedule!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary strategic partner and consultant to the business, developing people operations strategies, needs assessments and resulting people ops solutions

  • Acts as an employee champion and change agent

  • Works closely with management in the successful implementation and communication of corporate policies, processes and initiatives related to human resources, organizational and employee development at the business unit or retail level.

  • Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach.

  • Participates in company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., talent review, workforce planning, and organizational change)

  • Partners with the management in the design, development and execution of solutions through organizational development, cultural and process-oriented perspectives

  • Supports culture change initiatives and establishes key change management strategies for business-related events impacting human capital.

  • Facilitates the departmental Talent Review and ensures there is an effective Succession Plan strategy in place for all key positions

  • Supports the Performance Management cycle for their assigned departments including reviews, compensation, bonuses, and turnover improvement.

  • Plays an active role with Business Partners in managing Team Member performance and maintaining a culture of accountability

  • Works with managers/supervisors on Development Plans and identifying talent for succession

  • Partners with managers to ensure there is a plan in place to improve Team Member Engagement scores

  • Identifies retention risks and makes recommendations for retention

  • Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with demonstrated ability to understand the language of business, and at least five years of management experience.

  • SPHR or other HR certification preferred.
