Robert Half Cable Technician in Moncks Corner, South Carolina

Description We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a Cable Technician role in our Internet Service Provider industry located in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. The role will involve installing, configuring, and repairing various IT systems and equipment for our clients. It is a vital role within our operation, ensuring installations and repairs are conducted efficiently and accurately, aligning with technical specifications and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot IT hardware, including computers, servers, networking equipment, and peripherals.

• Perform software installations, upgrades, and patches as necessary.

• Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues to ensure minimal downtime for clients.

• Conduct system testing and quality assurance to ensure proper functionality and performance.

• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to identify and address IT needs and requirements.

• Document all installations, repairs, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.

• Provide technical support and guidance to clients as needed.

• Stay informed about the latest IT developments, trends, and best practices.

• Utilize skills like Network Hardware, Fiber splicing, Break Fix, Copper Cabling to perform job duties efficiently. Requirements • Must have a solid understanding of network hardware and its setup and maintenance.

• Experience in fiber splicing is required.

• Ability to troubleshoot and fix ('Break Fix') network-related issues is essential.

• Should be proficient in copper cabling and its related technologies.

• Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

• Should possess excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members.

• A commitment to adhering to safety procedures and protocols is required.

• Must be willing to work in different locations and varying weather conditions.

• Should have the ability to read and understand technical diagrams and manuals.

• Must have a valid driver's license and dependable transportation.

• Ongoing education in the field of network technology is preferred.

• Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if required.
