Robert Half International Sr. Financial Analyst in MONROE, Michigan
Our Monroe client is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting month-end close, as well as preparing reconciliation schedules for various business units. The Senior Analyst will also be responsible for completing analysis used to support financial planning and costing activities and addressing vendor and invoice issues. In addition, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes.

Cultivate business performance through the use and execution of financial analysis
Build positive relationships with key business partners and Finance/Accounting leadership
Capable of communicating updates to senior management, analyzing financial results, and distilling/synthesizing key issues in the course of advancing existing management reporting
Handle ad-hoc analysis requests
Collaborate with Operations and Accounting to drive improved management reporting by tracking financial results more discreetly and accurately
Help create sustainable business, operational, and financial processes to be understood by all necessary teams
Work closely with Functional leads - provide management reporting, accounting and compliance guidance, and ensure alignment of operational initiatives
Analyze financial results, distill/synthesize key trends, assess current and future business risks, and communicate critical updates to senior leadership all in the course of preparing monthly and quarterly management reports
The ideal Senior Financial Analyst must have 5+ years of accounting and finance experience with 2+ years as an analyst in an automotive/manufacturing environment. In addition, the ideal candidate will have solid month-end and account analysis experience. The ideal candidate will also have SAP and Hyperion experience, as well as strong Excel experience with pivot tables and vLookups. This is long-term temporary assignment that could become a full-time position for the right candidate.
Expert Microsoft Excel skills required
5+ years experience in operations finance necessary
A BA/BS degree in Finance, Business, or related field necessary
Highly skilled with Microsoft PowerPoint
Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally, think practically and be solution-oriented
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement
Acquirement in office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Proven knowledge of SAP
General familiarity with financial statement preparation
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
Well-founded grasp of financial analysis
Command of general ledger
Microsoft Excel experience
Strong familiarity with journal entries
Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel
Able to think critically and operate effectively with management
