Robert Half Assistant Controller in MONTEREY, California

The Assistant Controller reports to the Controller on accounting staff updates. We have an excellent opportunity for a Assistant Controller position.   • Enhanced preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits

  • Consider and form Ad Hoc financial reports

  • Generate relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, actual spend against budgets/outlook, and key financial metrics

  • Work on other requests when required

  • Backfill for Controller where necessary

  • Back implementation and make sure adherence to accounting policies and procedures

  • Make sure regular account reconciliation to completion

  • Partake in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting

  • Ready different technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures

  • Steer the accounting team during the closing process to warrant deadlines are met

  • Detect and prepare process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency

  • Encourage to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, regular assessment, and development

  • Incite accountability and the meeting of deliverables

  • Remarkable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred

  • Budget forecasting experience required

  • Adeptness in Inventory Valuation

  • Earlier work involving account reconciliation

  • Forecasting experience

  • Practical knowledge of Public Accounting

  • Monthly Reporting experience preferred

  • Actual Variance Analysis experience

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience highly desired

  • Demonstrated knowledge of CPA

  • General familiarity with Epicor Erp

  • Background working with general ledger

  • Microsoft Excel experience highly preferred

  • Complete understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

  • Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment

  • CPA certification a plus

  • Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience

  • Bachelor'Microsoft Degree in Accounting
