Robert Half Controller in Monterey, California

Description We are inviting applications for the role of a Financial Controller, located in Monterey, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the non-profit foundation's accounting and clerical functions. This role involves tasks such as consolidating financial statements, maintaining records, stewarding funds, administering payroll, and managing internal control systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the annual budgeting process and any necessary follow-up forecasts in collaboration with other staff members.

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, P& L, and any associated GL and/or cost center summaries.

• Guide financial decisions by providing regular team updates and establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Ensure all required tax reporting is completed accurately and on time.

• Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, and advising management on required actions.

• Oversee personnel administration and administer payroll.

• Assist foundation development efforts by aiding in grant/contract preparation and reporting.

• Manage IT systems in conjunction with designated service providers.

• Perform all other accounting operational functions, which include data entry to applicable software, monthly credit card reconciliation, initiating AP, distributing invoices, reconciling endowment accounts, and ensuring cash management needs.

• Occasionally perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities listed. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services

• Knowledge of DCAA regulations and guidelines

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Skilled in various Accounting Functions

• Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing procedures and regulations

• Proficient in managing and overseeing Budget Processes.
