Description

We are in search of a Controller to support our client in Monterey, California. The successful candidate will be part of our financial team, playing a crucial role in managing and overseeing budget processes, financial compliance, and grant accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the overall budgeting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.

• Implement financial management strategies to optimize financial performance and strategic position.

• Conduct public accounting duties, ensuring that all financial records comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.

• Utilize QuickBooks Pro for financial operations, including but not limited to, maintaining accurate financial records and processing transactions.

• Manage grant accounting processes, ensuring that all grants are properly accounted for and reported.

• Develop and implement robust financial management frameworks to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

• Work closely with other departments to develop and implement financial strategies and ensure financial compliance.

• Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.

• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure timely and accurate compliance.

• Provide strategic recommendations to enhance financial performance and new business opportunities.

Requirements • Proficiency in budget management, including the ability to plan, manage, and execute budgets effectively.

• Demonstrated knowledge of financial compliance and regulations to ensure the organization operates within legal guidelines.

• Proven experience in financial management, including the ability to monitor, control, and manage business operations to meet financial targets.

• Familiarity with grant accounting to manage and oversee funding received through grants.

• Experience in public accounting, including the ability to prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Pro to manage accounting and financial tasks efficiently.
