Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the non-profit sector, based in Monterey, California. The chosen candidate will be integral to our team, focusing on tasks such as account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general accounting. This role is crucial in ensuring financial clarity and accuracy within our organization.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct account reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliation to confirm that all data is accurate and in balance.
• Execute bank reconciliations to ensure financial integrity and stability.
• Carry out general accounting duties and maintain the general ledger.
• Prepare and record journal entries as part of the month-end close process.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for financial analyses and reporting.
• Employ NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for various accounting tasks.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and keep abreast of current industry best practices.

Requirements
• Proficient in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Solid understanding of general ledger management
• Experience in preparing journal entries
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with month-end close processes
• Proven track record in an accounting role within a government, educational or non-profit organization
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
