Description
We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Morristown, Tennessee. The Sr. Accountant will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing industry, reporting to the Controller and providing key insights and analysis to support our financial operations. This role will entail a range of responsibilities, from cost accounting to financial forecasting.
Responsibilities:
• Manage cost accounting and cost of goods sold (COGS) within the manufacturing environment
• Conduct regular physical inventory and cycle counts to maintain accurate records
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring adherence to standard cost accounting
• Perform regular account and balance sheet reconciliations to verify the accuracy of transactions
• Assist in month-end close processes and perform bank reconciliations
• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Excel Formulas to process and analyze financial data
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support strategic planning
• Comply with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley regulations in all accounting practices
• Utilize Infor XA for various accounting tasks
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

Requirements • Must hold at least 3 years of experience as an Accountant or in a similar role
• Proficient in Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is necessary
• Familiarity with General Ledger and Journal Entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Excel Formulas is required
• Experience with Month End Close process
• Understanding of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and Bill of materials (BOM)
• Knowledge in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, and Standard Cost Accounting
• Familiarity with SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
• Experience with Infor XA software is a plus
• Must not have any discriminatory language or behavior as per the Discriminatory Words List provided
• Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
• A professional qualification in accounting (CPA, ACCA, etc.) will be considered a plus.
