Description
Do you want to get your career as a finance professional moving in a new direction? There's an urgent need for a Senior Financial Analyst/Cost Accountant to join a client via Robert Half in the Morristown, Tennessee area. You will operationalize and cultivate data-driven planning processes and improve upon monthly and quarterly reporting. As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will manage building long-range operating plans to support business initiatives, developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources are leveraged with maximum effectiveness, and driving world class strategic and financial planning methods. You will produce variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. In this role, you will be directly involved in the coordination of various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations. What you get to do every single day
Work in partnership with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation and prioritization
Oversee weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
Work closely with cross functional partners in Accounting and Operations to execute against plans
Push monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
Apprehend and analyze internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
Enable effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
Produce and monitor forecasting reports
Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
-Cost accounting functions
Track monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources
Analyze performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities

Requirements - CapEx experience highly valued
Expertise in Power BI
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Hands-on experience with Excel Formulas
Proficiency in University Degree
Standard Cost Accounting experience
Background working with SOX
Good understanding of budget forecasting
Cost accounting experience desired
Comprehension of Oracle
Proficiency in Manufacturing Cost Accounting
General familiarity with journal entries
Earlier work involving variance analysis
V-Loops experience preferred
Adeptness in Annual Physical Inventory
Demonstrated knowledge of inventory controls
Financial analysis experience highly desired
Practical knowledge of month end closings
VLOOKUP experience desired
Cost accounting experience preferred
Prior experience with Pivot Table
Compliance experience highly preferred
Previous experience working with Rolling Forecast
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, MBA preferred
3+ years experience with advanced financial analysis, planning and budget controls required
Capable of simplifying complex problems and building solutions
Exceptional presentation skills
Extremely efficient with financial reporting tools
