Robert Half Staff Accountant in Mount Laurel, New Jersey

Description

Robert Half is searching for a Staff Accountant. The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. When it's time for the monthly close, you'll be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Mount Laurel, New Jersey based firm has a long-term contract position available, and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.

Key responsibilities

  • Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments

  • Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

  • Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

  • Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner

  • Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision

  • Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reporting's

  • Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

    Requirements

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

  • Detailed and have the ability work independently

  • Solid understanding of NetSuite

  • 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
